Ch. Cape Ann My Bud Willmiester, CD, CGC, TT was the first Curly to join our family. Such a good-natured, well-rounded Curly he convinced us that one was not enough. He ruled order with the other canines in our home, but presented such a tenderness as to never harm even the youngest pup. Willie, our first, taught us the ropes in the Conformation Ring and also the ropes in the Obedience Ring. Willie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in May 2004, but he will remain alive in our hearts forever.

The Brag Of A Lifetime
We would like to brag about our girl - Ch. Chocca Shaw's Blazin Blizzard, CGC, TT, ROM. She was born of Teddy (Ptarmigan Walk The Wild Side) and Derby (Addidas Blackberry Champagne) and was sister to Jade (Chocca Shaw's Winter Wonder). She was one of two in the litter and we were very fortunate to get her. We want to say she was an easy bitch to train, but that was not the case. In fact, it was she who trained us.
Jetta was often referred to as "The Princess" as she always preferred to be in the house rather than outside. In fact, on several occasions she literally broke "into" the house. After repairing storm windows twice and putting diamond plate aluminum on the lower two-thirds of the storm door, we decided it was easier (and cheaper) just to let her have her way and keep her inside.
She was also "Mama Jet" to every pup ever born in her house whether she whelped it or not. She also saved us from cleaning a lot of ears for she loved to do that chore.
She was the reason the string-bean diet was invented. She loved to eat and one of Don's pet names for her was Kielbasa because he said when she packed on a few pounds she looked like a polish sausage going around the ring. Speaking of her gait.... she was often referred to as a "Teddy's daughter" when seasoned breeders would watch her go around the ring. We took it as a compliment as she was nothing short of perfect in our eyes.
Jetta gave us three beautiful litters and her Get proved her worthy of a ROM. We will watch her grandchildren carry on for her, and we will always see a part of her in each one of them.
She was the only dog in the house allowed to sleep in our bed and was the best snuggler and kept us warm many cold winter nights.
Jetta gave us many, many more gifts, most of which we are sure to forget to mention just now, but as time heals our hearts the memory of gifts she gave will pluck our hearts every now and then.

Ch. Dese's Black As Coal, CD, WC, CGC, TT, JH, RN (Coal)
Coal is from our first Curly litter bred in August 1997. Coal has great facial expression along with good reach and drive as a retrieving dog should. He is very eager to please whether in the Show Ring or retrieving in the Field. Always owner-breeder handled, we are truly blessed with this multi-talented and multi-titled dog who has taught us so much! Coal achieved his Junior Hunter title in early Spring 2004. Coal went on to win the Stud Dog Class at the 2004 National Specialty. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to see Coal and two of his get.
